Mission

and

Vision

Nomadic from the beginning, our ensemble has found our interpersonal relationships to be the driving force of everything we do. Our ensemble is made by two sisters and a friend who, through our shared academic history, have grown together as musicians with shared artistic goals. In our individual explorations in the professional world we have continuously explored these artistic ideas, owing their development in large part to the many places we have lived and the countless incredible artists with whom we have interacted.

We value the strength, growth, and drive to create innovative chamber music because of our skills and relationships, which are inextricably connected. This vital connection drives our performance and enables the cultivation of our commissioning and programming within our artistic vision. Representative of our passions for exploring chamber percussion music, our repertoire fosters the intricate personal performance muscle that only we can build together. We are able to respond, like a reflex, to each others’ nuanced actions in performance based on trust, cooperation, and connection. Our repertoire consists of music predominantly composed by womxn and gender non-conforming individuals, and requires finite attention to detail in all performative aspects. These meticulously curated details found throughout our repertoire include the traditions of the percussion genre, usage of technological elements, found sounds, and contemporary techniques work in tandem to create immersive musical explorations.

Together, empowered by the curiosities of the sonic world, collaboration, and the opportunities within chamber music, we believe that pushing the envelope for womxn in percussion in curation of our collaborators enhances and deepens the experience of any curious listener. We continue to explore the complex layers within our relationships to deepen our performance and practice experiences and continue to bend the genre of percussion, its immediate community, and the meaningful dialogue it creates.
